Week 5 Vocabulary

1. Civil.- Of or relating to ordinary citizens and their concerns, as distinct from military or ecclesiastical matters.

ex.Ex. Tom and Jane were married in a civil ceremony because they were not religious.

2. Debate - A formal discussion on a particular topic in a public meeting or legislative assembly, in which opposing arguments are put forward.

.Ex. There has been very little public debate about teenager's rights in the Classroom.

3.Confer - Have discussions; exchange opinions

ex.Ex. In court, Frank leaned over and conferred with his attorney about a statement the witness said.
